The death of June (Shaddick) Dunnett occurred suddenly at her home, in Douglastown, on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the age of 66. Born in Miramichi, NB, she was the daughter of Shirley (Gilks) and the late Harry Shaddick.
June worked many years at Shoppers Drug Mart in Miramichi and Sus, NB. June loved her family and any opportunity to spend time with them. She truly loved just the smaller things in life, like family gatherings, going for drives, watching game shows, her pets (which she recently adopted two kittens), and her outings to Baie St. Anne for a feed of lobster with her special friend Pat.
She has been battling some health issues for the past few years. Being the quiet, reserved person she was, June never complained nor asked for anything.
June is survived by her mother Shirley Shaddick of Miramichi; her special friend and longtime partner Pat Colepaugh of Miramichi; her sister Melanie (Bruce) MacCallum and her brother Blake (Ellen) Shaddick all of South Esk.
She is also survived by nephews Andrew MacCallum (Rebecca Fodchuk) of Edmonton, AB, Jaden Shaddick of Fredericton, and niece Tracy MacCalum of Miramichi. June will also be missed by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-nephews and nieces.
June is predeceased by her father Harry Shaddick of Miramichi, NB.
As per June’s request, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will take place at a later date.
In June’s memory, donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA, or to a memorial of one’s choice.
