It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Judy May Cochrane on March 23 at the age of 71.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Everett. Daughter Lisa (Kent), grandchildren Jesse, Justin, Joclyne. And her beautiful great granddaughter, Violet. Judy will also be dearly missed by her brothers, sister-in laws, brother in-laws, nieces, nephews and family and friends.
Judy is predeceased by her parents Wilbur and Vicki, stepparents Dorothy and Gene, sister Jerri, grandson Kenneth and son Michael, who passed away in December 2022.
Judy was born at Red Deer hospital August 21,1951. Third child to Wilbur and Vicki. Judy was raised on a farm east of Innisfail where she attended school, then moved to Didsbury, Taber, Red Deer and Three Hills Bible School.
Judy then moved to Calgary to train as a nurses aid working at Glenmore Auxiliary Hospital.
Then working at Leduc Airport where she met and married Everett in 1971. Their first child Mike was born in Leduc in May 1974. Moving to Rocky Mountain House where they would have their second child, Lisa, in December of 1976. Everett and Judy purchased a farm where many wonderful memories were made and family and friends would gather. Pets were treated like family and holidays were celebrated with joy.
Judy had a variety of jobs over the years making many life long friendships along the way. They bought Rocky’s first Pop Shoppe. She worked at the extended care wing of the hospital for many years where she treated her senior patients as family. She also worked as a special needs assistant at Rocky El and the high school.
Soon after moving back to Rocky in 1976, Judy reconnected with the Lord and was a long time member of a woman’s bible study group. God played a big role in the rest of her life. She encouraged people to come to know the Lord as their Saviour.
Judy’s last adventure would have her moving to Okotoks to run a storage facility, where she took in many people and helped them find their way. She was an angel of lost souls.
Judy struggled with COPD, her body was tired and she was ready to be with the lord and see her son Mike again. For there is no pain like the broken heart of a grieving Mother.
John 3:17
For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him be saved.
A celebration of life will be held on June 17, at 1:00p.m. at the Elks Hall in Leslieville in combination with her son Micheal Douglas Cochrane’s memorial.
