Obituary of JUDITH GEORGINA KORMILO
Judith Georgina Kormilo (nee Harcus) “Gina”
November 14, 1940 – January 25, 2023
It is with saddened hearts that we had to say goodbye to our Mom, Grammie, Sister, Auntie – Gina, who passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at St. Boniface Hospital.
Gina is survived by her partner Ron VanWalleghem, daughter Tabitha (Cory) and son Tim, her son-in-law Brian, her grandchildren Catherine (Alfredo), Danny (Iniar), Brianna (Kat), Christian (Jill), Christian (Ashley), Curtis, Jason and Owen, great grandchildren, Alexis, Mikey, Danae and Trent, and her sister Gloria, as well as many amazing nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Ross and Alice Harcus, husband Albert, sister Pat, her nieces Cheryl and Rhonda and nephew Dwight.
Gina grew up and went to school in Lockport, Manitoba. She married in 1955 and spent half her life living in Lockport and the other half living in Winnipeg. Our fondest memories of mom was watching and listening to her singing country music with her sisters Pat and Gloria and spending Christmas’ all together as one big family. In her later life she worked in many different establishments as a cook and a baker. She was best remembered for her many delicious soups. She had the opportunity to spend a few months living in Belize with her daughter and family and to later take vacations there. She descended from those who dedicated their lives to love and family and she carried on that tradition wholeheartedly. To Gina, family was not only blood but all those she accepted in her heart. She will be remembered and loved always and remain forever in our hearts.
Services to be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 3:00 pm.
Flowers may be sent to Cropo Funeral Chapel, or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
