Jo Willis Stuckenberg
July 15, 1953 – June 17, 2023
The family of Jo Willis Stuckenberg sadly announces her sudden passing on June 17, 2023. A beloved Wife, Mother, and Friend to the community she will be missed by many.
Survived by her husband, Rick and two daughters: Arja (Marty), and Kirsten (Spencer). Grandchildren: Kiera (Darren), Kristin (Evan), Megan (Bret), and Connor. Great grandchildren: Hailey, Emilee, Noah, Easton, Amiera, and Waylon. Sisters: Laurie (Ewan) and Harriet (Norm). Niece: Jessica and family, and numerous friends, colleagues, and adopted family members from within our community. Pre-deceased by parents, Harry and Laura Bryant, and granddaughter, Amiee Clark.
Known by many as “Coach Jo” she helped guide family, friends, students, and generations of gymnasts to climb the mountains on their journey through life. She was very proud to be one of the founding members of the Brazeau Gymnastics Club in Drayton Valley, AB. She was a dedicated member of the gymnastics community as a gymnast, coach and judge who also twice selected as a judge for the Arctic Winter Games.
Jo provided a positive learning environment for her students as a teacher. She was able to find innovative and quirky ways to infuse her student’s life experience into their learning goals. At home, Jo always had one of her beloved little dogs (Cooper and Scarlet) at her heels. She enjoyed many outdoor activities including horseback riding, scuba diving, snorkeling, gardening, and any destination with sunshine and palm trees!
A celebration of Jo’s life will be held by the family later this summer.
