Mr. Joseph Buys, formerly of Rhineland , passed away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, on Friday, September 22, 2023 in his 84th year. Joe and his wife Binnie had been avid volunteers with H-N Senior Support Services. He loved the outdoors, whether it was fishing, or in the garden, or appreciating the peacefulness of his brother’s cabin. Beloved husband of the Late Binnie Buys (2021). Loving father of Kim Handsaeme (Mike). Cherished grandfather of Kayla (Matt) and Kristine (Nolan) and great-grandfather of Jack and Ava. Dearest brother of Wayne Buys. Predeceased by his sons, Jack (2020) and Joseph Jr. (1998) and by his sister, Dolephine Szywaga (Late David), and by his sister in law Brenda Buys. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service held in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Kidney Foundation or the Alzheimer Society will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
