Joseph Henry Donnelly passed peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on Friday, April 28 at the age of 84 after a short bout with cancer. Husband and ‘main man’ to Jean Donnelly his beloved wife of 62 years. Father to his sons Dave (and his wife Shannon and sons Liam and Baron) and Stephen (and his wife Karen and daughters Taylor, her fiancé Jamie, and Kellie). Brother to Patti, Betty (Larry) and Mike (Corrine). Joe adored his family and spent his life with them until the end. He has joined the angels which include his baby girl Cathy who greeted him at heaven’s gate with open arms, his parents Hilda and Arthur, sisters Theresa, Joanie, Frankie, Carol, Marilyn, Rita and brothers Arthur and Freddie. Joe will forever be remembered as a gentle, kind, patient man with a witty sense of humour that warmed every room he entered. Joe’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A funeral mass will be held in Joe’s honour on Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Barrie (65 Amelia St, Barrie, ON L4M 1M7). In lieu of flowers, please bring your loving memories of Joe.
