McIntosh, Jack Sinclair
After a courageous battle, at the age of 86, Jack passed away peacefully, at his home in Poplar Hill with family by his side. Predeceased by his loving wife Janet (1995).
Best dad to Janice McIntosh (Dave MacMillan), John (Gail) McIntosh and Julie (Brian) Fowler. Proud papa to Kevin, Craig, Alex, Ainsley, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Rob, Molly, Jack and Ben. Awesome great grandpa to Maddie, Olivia, Liam, Emmett and Lennie.
Jack was the youngest son of Sinclair and Molly McIntosh. Brother to Jean and Norm Seabrook, Lyle McIntosh WWII, Jim and Kay McIntosh, Isabel and Howard Moffatt, Bob and Dorothy McIntosh and Alice and Ron Stevenson. Brother-in-law to Bill Johnston, Gord and Carolyn Johnston and Murray Johnston.
After leaving the Bank of Commerce in 1974, Jack and Janet purchased and operated McIntosh Lunch and Variety in Poplar Hill. Better known as “Jack Macs” for years. He then moved on to Coldstream Concrete as their office manager until he retired in 1997. Jack was an avid lawn bowler for most of his life, winning numerous tournaments and even went on to represent Ontario in the Canadian Championships.
Many thanks to Dr. John Denstedt, Dr. Michael Lock, Dr. Scott Ernst and the numerous nurses at the London Cancer Centre for their kindness and care. Nurse Beth, you provided Jack with comfort with your compassion and sense of humor during his treatments, and we are very grateful for that. Special thanks to Dr. Bryan Dias, your calls, visits and around the clock availability, you went above and beyond. To Dads’ numerous family members and friends, thank you for your calls and visits over the past few months. We know it meant the world to dad.
