It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Mitchell “Mitch” announce his passing on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. John at the age of 72 years. Mitch was proudly from Fife, Scotland and moved here in 1974 and made Corner Brook his home. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Robert (Sherry), Thomas, Kimberley and Scott (Christina); grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Nathan, Noah, Brandyn, Zachary, T.J., Erika, Alicia, Sabrina, Nick (Danielle) and Teagan; brothers: Thomas and Douglas (Lucy); sister-in-law Linda; special friends of the family Sherry, William (Chelsea, Ana and Iris; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his best friend and mother of his children Mary Mitchell, 2020, parents Thomas and Catherine, brother Neil. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday, April 30 from the hours of 2-4 p.m. Cremation to follow, there will be no formal funeral service.
