Obituary of John Boldt
John Boldt passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023 at Tabor Manor LTC at the age of 94. He is mourned and celebrated by Lisa, his beloved wife of 68 years, his daughters and their spouses, Heidi (Keith) Poysti and Mary Anne (Dan) Duerrstein; grandchildren Nathan (Sandy Rayner) Poysti, Rachel (Edgar) French, Sarah (David) Deckert, Janelle (Rob) Leech, Joshua Duerrstein, Jordan (Danielle) Duerrstein, Jesslyn Duerrstein and 7 great grandchildren. He is lovingly remembered by siblings Helene Boldt, Jake (Martha) Boldt, Peter (Fern) Boldt, Lisa’s siblings and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Anna Boldt, Frieda (Isaak) Neufeld, Mary Boldt and Susie (Jake) Neufeld.
John was born in Ukraine, raised in Paraguay and emigrated to Canada shortly after his marriage. He founded Boldt Builders and enjoyed supporting the church and international economic development and humanitarian relief agencies.
Visitation – The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. at Grantham Mennonite Brethren Church, 469 Grantham Ave., St. Catharines
Interment – Family burial service at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Grantham Mennonite Brethren Church. Please join us.
