Please raise a glass and toast the life of John Leslie Allen (3 July 1944 – 18 August 2023). Husband of Kathleen, father to Laura and Matthew, and grandfather to Luka, Lily, Rose and Jacob. John was not a religious man, preferring to leave whatever gods there might be alone to do their own thing and hopefully leave him out of it. We therefore commend his soul to whatever just and decent god that will have him and, if none are available, we hope they’ll just let him putter around undisturbed, as he liked to do on earth. Anyone wishing to do so is encouraged to make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
