Whalen; John Joseph “Bee Bop” it is with sadness that John passed away on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in his 72nd year. He will be forever loved and dearly missed by his daughter Amy Whalen and her fur babies. Predeceased by his children little John and Angel. He will be remembered with love by his siblings Catherine (late Leonard) Hinch, Nora ( Jim) Kiley, Pauline (John) Gaffney, Rosemary (Dan) Sedore, Irene (Bob) Bellemare, Stella Kelly, Patricia (Rick) Ireland, Julie Coligan (Sean) and late Larry (Debbie) Whalen. Caring uncle to many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was the son of the late Jack and late Helen Whalen.
John worked for the maintenance department with the school board for many years and in his retirement he worked at Ripplebrook Farm. He made many friends during his years of working at Queens Hotel as a bartender.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 5-8 pm and Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 15th, 2023 at 11am, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.
Friends desiring may contribute to the SPCA -Lennox and Addington Animal Care Centre or to Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre in memory of John. condolences and donations may be forwarded online through www.wartmanfuneralhomes.com.
