ALBERT, JOHN JOSEPH

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of John Joseph Albert, 68, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, September 18th, 2023. Born October 26, 1954, in New Denmark, he was a son of the late Aurel and Joan (Moore) Albert.
Throughout his life, John was known by many as being a hard worker, having been employed for many years at Twin Rivers Sawmill and Bay Ferries.
John was community minded and served as an ambulance services volunteer and shared a passion for fundraising to make a difference in the lives of others. John was also a proud volunteer coach with the Plaster Rock Minor Hockey Association.
Above all else, he was a good father and a wonderful grandfather.
John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Peggy (nee St. Amand) along with his children; Wesley (Jenn) Albert and Amy (Steve) Marshall. He is also remembered by his 2 brothers Alwin (Gisele) Albert, and Andrew (Lisa) Albert, 6 sisters Ann (Merle) Albert, Adriane (Maurice) Michaud, Amelia (David) Reynolds, April (Lynn) Cannon, Ada (Dale) McDermit, and Arlene Albert.
John will also be missed and remembered by his 4 grandchildren: Sam, Colin, Indigo, and Violet.
In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation will take place and no formal visitation or funeral service will be held. Memorial donations towards the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) would be greatly appreciated.
