1935-2023
SEMINATORE, John James Jr. recently of Edmonton AB, formerly of
Magaguadavic, NB, and Springfield, ME, passed away August 30, 2023 at
Extendicare Eaux Claires care facility in Edmonton, AB. John was born
December 11, 1935 in Massachusetts, a son of the late John James
Seminatore of Woburn, Mass. and Beatrice E. (Grover) Simpson of
Burlington, Mass.
He is survived by a brother, Albert Seminatore (Pat), of Pahrump, NM
and a sister, Nancy Morzenti (Peter), of Alcova, WY; a daughter,
Sandra B. McFarlane, Calgary, AB; and a son, John David (JD)
Seminatore (Rena), Edmonton, AB; five grandchildren, Michael
Seminatore (Kristina), Houston, TX, Nicholas Seminatore (Christie),
Middle Sackville, NS, Marcie Styler (Ryan), Edmonton, AB, Emily Ann
and Glena J. McFarlane, Calgary, AB; and four great grandchildren, AJ
and Colby Seminatore, Edmonton, AB and Isabelle and William
Seminatore, Middle Sackville, NS.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Judith Anne (West) Seminatore
(b. June 05, 1935 – d. February 29, 2004).
John and Judy were married in Noblesville, Indiana on February 26,
1956. He was a salesman and an entrepreneur. Moving his family to
Reading, Massachusetts in the early 1960’s, he built them several
homes (Noblesville, IN, Reading, MA, Magaguadavic and Harvey, NB and
finally in Springfield, ME).
John’s talents included hanging wallpaper and interior decoration,
being the first to decorate the newly refurbished buildings at the
Historical Village of Kings Landing in New Brunswick in the early
1970’s. He had a door-to-door meat route for several years with a
butcher shop out of Magaguadavic, NB and later ran Noah’s Pets, a pet
store in Silverwood, NB. He returned to the USA to build and live in
Springfield, ME for a number of years and then moved closer to family
in Alberta during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. He will be missed by
family and friends.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation and a private
memorial service will take place at a later time. For those who wish
to make a donation in memory of John, the family has suggested the
Harvey Settlement Cemetery.
