John Wilmer Howatt, age 84, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on April 13, 2023. Born in Clinton, December 13, 1938, son of the late Wilmer and Christina Howatt.
John is survived by his wife of 60 years Marilyn (Keen). Loving father of Dale Howatt, Brenda Howatt and Jill Howatt Gerber (Bob). Grandfather of Kristina Howatt Gerber (Kevin), Kyle Howatt Gerber, Veronica Vasquez Howatt. Brother of Gordon Howatt.
Predeceased by grandson Ricky Howatt Vasquez Guerrero, brother Jim Howatt (Delores), sister Helen Hodgert (Mac), sister-in-law Colleen Howatt.
John and Marilyn owned and operated Howatt’s Orchard for 26 years until retirement. After retiring John spent many hours doing woodworking. The family would like to thank Stratford Paramedics and the Stratford Fire Department for their compassion. Also, to the nurses, Doctors and all attending staff in Emergency department, as well as ICU were fantastic with John.
At John’s request his body will go to the University of Western Ontario for medical research. There will be no funeral service.
