Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of John Dwayne Lyons, loving husband of Trudy (Clements) Lyons, announce his passing which occurred on August 6, 2023, at his home after a period of declining health. He was born May 17, 1963, in Summerside, PEI, to Joan (Daley) Daye and the late Robert J. Lyons.
John worked as a truck driver for various industrial companies. He loved driving and sports but what was most important to him was the time he spent with his family and friends.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons; Gordon McKinnon and Joel Lyons (Kayley Burr), his daughter, Alexis Lyons-Simon (Eric), his brothers; Robbie (Kathy), Michael (Shalisha), Pat (Melanie), and Shawn, his sister, Cheryl Smith (Kirk), grandchildren; Rayden, Abgail, Rebecca, James, and Lilly, along with his aunts, uncles and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), from where the family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Following cremation, there will be a funeral service and interment at a time to be announced. Remembrances made to the Kidney Foundation or the IWK Children’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
