at the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge, Eldon, the passing of Joan
Marion Currie (nee McQuillan) age 92, devoted wife of the late Clair
“Bud” Currie formerly of Georgetown, occurred on Wednesday,
June 21, 2023 with family by her side. Born in Mount Stewart on May
15, 1931, daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary (Martell) McQuillan.
Joan is survived by children Larry and Susan (Stevenson) of Saar,
Bahrain; Michael and Christine (Shepherd) of Cardigan; Claire and
Donald (MacIntyre) of Stratford and Scott and Anne (Coady) of Abu
Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; brother and sisters, Wilfred McQuillan,
Elizabeth Gotell, Barbara Johnston; cherished grandchildren Barbie
Dawn and Carl Burke, Mark and Michelle Currie, Brad and Kathy Currie,
Brooke, Colby and Conor Currie; adored great grandchildren, Ella
Burke, Aaliyah and Callen Currie, and Alexa and Garrett Currie.
Predeceased by son Mark at infancy, great grandson Harry Burke.
Resting at Ferguson Logan
Montague Funeral Home. Funeral Mass for both Clair (Bud) and Joan
Currie will be held at St. James Parish, Georgetown on Monday, June
26, 2023 at 11:00 am. Visiting will be held at the Church prior to the
Service from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Interment to follow in the Parish
Cemetery.

Society, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation or the
Children’s Wish, would be appreciated by the family.
