It is with great sadness that we share the news that Joan (Bronson) Mowat passed away peacefully, with family by her side.
Though she was predeceased by her husband Bruce and her brother Gordon, dear Aunt Joan was loved by her many nieces and nephews from all sides of the family, including Jane (Garth), Susan, Diana (Guy) and Andrew Bronson as well as the late Susan (Greg), Robert (Leslie), Deborah (Julian), Wendy (Fred), Roger (Erin), the late Bill and Linda Mowat and Katherine Sulkes. She also had many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Daughter of the late Mary (Davis) Bronson and Cecil Gordon Bronson, Joan grew up to be an enthusiastic athlete no matter the season. From taking the train to ski in the Laurentians to her lifetime membership at The Royal Montreal Golf Club, she was known for her elegance on the slopes and was part of the hole-in-one club. She loved art and was an accomplished watercolour painter. She spent her winters in Naples, Florida so that she could paint and golf with friends year-round. Joan was also highly respected for her keen eye and a strong sense of organization.
We send our sincere respect and appreciation to Sandra, Samantha and Peace among many other devoted staff-members of Place Kensington, Joan’s home for the last decade, for their remarkable patience and very special touch.
