CUTHILL, James Alexander
It is with great sadness that the family of James (Jim) announce his peaceful passing at The John M. Parrott Centre on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the age of 91.
James is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Vera Cuthill (Hart) in their 69th year of marriage, full of love and joy. Cherished and lovingly remembered by his children James E. (Kathy) Cuthill and John (Michelle Wiley) Cuthill. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Michael (Leighsa) Cuthill, Murray Cuthill, Marie Cuthill (Phil Sands) all of Greater Napanee, as well as his great grandchildren, Brianna Cuthill, Alexandria Cuthill, Laila Cuthill and Maisie Sands. Dear brother in-law of Doris Cuthill (late Howard), Barbara Hart (late Vernon) and Gerald Hart.
James is predeceased by his Grandson Matthew Cuthill, his parents Wilfred & Henrietta Cuthill, sisters Ruth (Don) Sills, Georgina (John) Herrington, Clara (Jack) Perry.
James worked at Gibbard’s Furniture, and at Canadian Tire and had a dairy herd operation on the Century old Cuthill farm until March 2000. At which time, they switched to raise beef cattle.
James was involved Municipal politics and was Reeve of North Fredericksburgh Township, as well as Warden of Lennox and Addington County in 1979. He took great pride in all he did. He was a mentor and a great supporter of his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, operating the machinery and he was the grandkids biggest fan when they played hockey and baseball.
Family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home, Napanee on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service to be held in the chapel at Wartman Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11 a.m., burial at Riverside Cemetery with reception to follow.
