Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Friend, Harry James “Jim” Burnett. After a length battle with cancer, he peacefully went to sleep in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
Survived by his daughter Kara (Grant), his son Kim, Grandchildren Kacie (Andy), Erica (Arnie), Jake (Hilary), Adam (Thatsanee), Chadd (Natasha), Tyler (Mateus), Great Grandchildren Troy, Annastasia, Charolette, Elwood and God son Riley MacAulay
Jim will always be remembered for his love of animals. He was awarded an Honorary Lifetime membership with the Bow Valley Riding Association for his dedication and years of service. Jim spent countless hours at the club with his favourite horses and other four-legged friends. He also took on the roll of pet sitting dogs, cats, and horses for many friends over the years. He always said he related to the animals more than people and that’s where he felt most comfortable.
A special thank you to the Nurse’s and Doctor’s at the Canmore Hospital for taking amazing care of him during his stay. You showed him respect and compassion daily and for that we will forever be grateful.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
