Jerry’s last Truck Stop was at Victoria Hospital, LHSC on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Jerry is survived by the love of his life for 49 years, Ruth (Richardson). He is the brother of Ron Abbott and Shirley Miller, Marlyn and Bill Brady, Bill and Carol Richardson, Jean Scott. Jerry was also loved by Jim Dunsmore. Predeceased by Joyce and Ken Fortey, Ray Cross, Margaret Abbott, John Scott and Mira Dunsmore. Jerry loved his many nieces and nephews. Jerry was the Owner Operator of Gerald Abbott Trucking for 37 years. He left this world peacefully in the company of loved ones after a few years of battling health problems.
Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road South, London, ON (519) 652-2020 on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Dorchester Union Cemetery, Dorchester. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at the Dorchester Community Centre, 2066 Dorchester Road, Dorchester, ON N0L 1G2 on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Sue Browning officiating. The celebration will then continue until 4:00 p.m. Donations to the Alice Saddy Association, 457 King Street, London, ON N6B 1S9 or St. Andrew’s Westminster United Church, 2008 Glanworth Dr, London, ON N6N 1H4 gratefully acknowledged.
