Jerry Van Mincey – age 66 of Knoxville departed for Glory on Sunday night, June 18, 2023. He attended Central High School and was a nurse by profession. When disabled, he volunteered at various organizations. His life was defined by his friend, Jesus Christ. He was saved in 1972. Even at his lowest point, he always had a heart for God. Dr. Lusby at UT invited him to pursue religious studies, but he preferred to search himself. He especially loved searching beliefs of the Judeo-Christian world. He always felt he might find out a little more truth about God. He was a Pentecostal Christian and a Jew. Now he learns straight from the Master.
Preceded in death by parents, Carl and Ruby Mincey; brothers, Ron and Vic Mincey; and Purvis, the red poodle.
Survived by his wife, Sheila Mincey; brother, Gary and wife, Christi; and nephew, Brett with his lovely family.
