Sadly, and unexpectedly, at the age of 71, Jeff passed away, at Joseph Brant Hospital on Sunday, June 25, 2023, surrounded by his wife and family, after a brief illness. Only a few short weeks ago, Jeff married Susan Collett, who will miss his wonderful company, amiable nature, love of music, all the excitement, adventures, and great memories made at the cottage, his passion for theatre, and his sharp, quick, sometimes sarcastic sense of humour that sparked lots of joy and laughs everywhere he went. Loving brother to Harley (Gloria) Vannan, Lisa (Bill) Salisbury, Mark (Beatrix) Vannan and Gillian Vannan, father to Jennifer, Christopher and Joshua and grandfather to Austin, Alex, Aidan, Noah, Sophia, Charlotte, Violet and Brodie.
Jeff was very much loved by his family, many friends and respected by those with whom he worked and volunteered. Jeff was a member of Port Nelson United Church and choir since 2009 as well as singing with the Burlington Civic Chorale.
Beginning his career in 1971 as an underwriter and working his way up to an executive role by his early thirties, Jeff created a successful and flourishing career in the insurance in industry, specializing in reinsurance, he would continue with this success until his retirement in 2021.
Funeral service to be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 3 pm, at Port Nelson United Church, 3132 South Dr, Burlington, ON L7N 1H7. If desired, donations to Port Nelson United Church, would be greatly appreciated.
