Obituary for
Jean Zurby
Jean Zurby (nee Jamieson) passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Walter Zurby (Nov. 2, 2000). Loving mother of Walter (Wendy MacDonald), Ken (Debi) and the late Karin Zurby (late Roger Janiuk). Much loved grandmother of Steven Zurby (Stephanie), Tracy St Onge, Erica Raymond (Yves), Kenny Zurby, Alexander Zurby (Julie), Jennifer Sauve (Richard), and Erin Pecore (Tom). Great grandmother of 11. Great great grandmother of 2 as well as many nieces and nephews. Jean was born in Glasgow Scotland and came to Timmins at the age of 19 as a war bride after marrying Walter in Scotland. She was a long time volunteer at the Timmins District Hospital and enjoyed family get togethers and long walks around town with her dogs. Jean, husband Walter and their family were long time “Star Lakers.” As per the wishes of the family, cremation has taken place and there will be a family celebration of her life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to an animal shelter, as she loved her dogs, or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins. To make online donations or condolences, please visit www.mironwilson.com
