Obituary for
Jean Maurice Bourdon
As I lay here dying
I can hear you crying
I can hear my children sharing childhood memories.
Oh! What wonderful memories we have.
Nicole and John, Chris and Paula and André and Cindy
I love you!
I was lucky to have a career at Timmins High that I loved
And wonderful students who stayed in touch.
Volunteering, swimming, walking, skiing, and gardening in beautiful Timmins.
After losing the love of my life,Lillian, my caramia
I thought I could not go on
But I found a way¬-
I travelled and spent time with family.
Then my devastating stroke hit and I was never the same.
I did what I could and travelled to the cottage in the summer
And to Florida in the winter accompanied by my wonderful caregiver Catherine.
I spent time with my most adored family and enjoyed small pleasures.
Sunday dinners, outings to the market, and movies were a welcome break.
Painting and FaceTiming with grandchildren were the highlight of my day.
Advocating for residents as Chair of the Villa council satisfied my need to help others,
I was delighted to receive the Honour of Excellence award from the province.
In the end I found myself in a small room
With my amazing children by my side.
My grandchildren visited, cried, laughed, and shared memories-
I am so proud of all of you:
Alex and Rebecca, Chris and Liane, Nicolas and Gianni, Benjamin, Jacob and Isabela, Zachary, Emily, Sarah, Caleigh, Thomas, Joe, Amanda, Samantha, and Abigail.
I love you all. Be good. Be kind. Be happy!
And to my surprise and delight, I enjoyed two great grandchildren
Sawyer and Scarlett… May you be loved!
The most important thing in my life has been my family.
I was a lucky man.
Dad, we love you and we are happy that you can now be reunited with mom.
We have such fond memories of our childhood, and we thank you for everything you did for us especially your wisdom, your jokes, and your endearing stories! You had a way of captivating an audience and we love how you always thought everyone was beautiful!

We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Jean Maurice
Bourdon 1937 2023 and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
I have been blessed to have known Maurice Bourdon since I first walked into his grade 10
French class at TH &VS in September of 1965
He was much appreciated and highly respected by his students
I think that his hands-large and powerful and his eyes -revealing competence and care showcased his essence
He was a wonderful fellow and I am thankful
to have known him

I was fortunate to have Mr Bourdon as my French teacher in Grade 9 and Grade 12. Full of life and so much fun as a teacher. Then I had the privilege of working with him at Timmins High and seeing the other side of him. I was in orchestra with his lovely wife and watched a true love story with him so attentive to her in her declining years. God bless you Maurice Bourdon. You are missed.
