Obituary of James Wilfred Morton
With family by his side, James “Jim” Wilfred Morton of Strathroy in his 79th year passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Strathroy Middle General Hospital. Beloved husband of Lois (Veitch) for 57 cherished years. Loving father of Kevin and Lory of Paris, ON and Melissa of New York City. Dear papa of Elle and Paige. Brother of the late Robert “Bob” Jr. (Gloria) and the late Stan (Marcia). Brother-in-law of Norman and Trudy Veitch, Paul Veitch, Lyle and Christine Veitch and Bernice (Late Albert) McGregor. Predeceased by his parents Robert “Bob” and Elizabeth (Kelley) and in-laws William “Bill” and Nola Veitch. Jim will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Jim retired in 2009 after 35 years at Burnbrae Farms. He spent many years volunteering with Strathroy and District Minor Hockey Association and Strathroy Fastball Association.
Friends and family will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Tuesday, February 7th from 1:00-3:00 pm until time of Memorial Service at 3:00pm. Private interment to follow at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association (rett.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
