Obituary of James Alfred smith
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim smith on January 5th, 2023. Born in Hotchkiss, Alberta in 1934, spending most of life in Quesnel and Stewart, BC.
Jim leaves behind his wife Laura, his children Art (Michelle), Lew (Sheryl), Betty (Dennis), and Darlene (Larry), as well as his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And of course, Bandit whom he loved dearly.
Jim loved to be the life of the party, playing guitar and singing songs. An avid fisherman who had many fond memories on the water with his wife Laura of 62 years. Never giving up, Jim fought right to the end of his 88 years.
Predeceased by many family and friends who will be greeting him with open arms and most likely a Budweiser.
To honor Jim’s memory and celebrate his life, a memorial will be held at the Legion in Quesnel, BC on January 10th, from 3pm to 6pm. The event will be an informal potluck gathering, and the bar will be open if you wish to have a drink in Jim’s honor. Jim would not want a tear shed, or a fuss made but definitely a drink in the air to say see you on the other side.
