Peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, James “Jim” Alan Everett passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband to Susan (nee Houston) for 48 years. Loving father to Christopher (Karen) and Timothy (Lisa); and proud grandfather to Lauryn. Survived by his sister Earlene, brother William (Delaine), and sister-in-law Michele. Predeceased by his brother Robert and brother-in-law Gilbert.
Jim had a deep love for his family who brought immense joy to his life. He loved spending time with his family, creating precious memories that will be cherished forever.
He was a kind and loving person who was always available to lend a hand to anyone in need. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t build or fix and anytime you needed something he seemed to magically pull it out of his pocket.
In his free time, Jim had a variety of hobbies that brought him great joy. He had a love of fishing, spending many hours on the water, casting his line and enjoying the company of family and friends. He also loved golfing, baseball, camping and gardening.
Jim was a dedicated employee of Canada Post for over 35 years, where he worked with passion and diligence. He was respected by his colleagues and loved by the community he served. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic.
Jim will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his unwavering love for his family and friends, his passion for his hobbies and the glass of scotch he had in his hand.
Family and friends may visit at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
