Passed away peacefully in hospital on June 28, 2023, at age of 91. Beloved husband of Etheline Claudette Johnson-Heap, Jim was preceded in death in 2005 by his former wife, Suzette Girard (mother of Ruby). Cherished father of Ruby Heap (Gilles Patry), loving and devoted grandfather of Susie Heap (Anadi Misra) and dear brother of Helen Cusiac. Jim will be fondly remembered by his nephews, Dr. Jean Bourgouin (Jocelyne Paquin), and Dr. Pierre Bourgouin (Elaine Faucher), his stepdaughter Brenda Johnson-Charles (Roderick Charles), his nieces and other family members.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful team of doctors, nurses and health care providers from the Ottawa Hospital General Campus, who provided continuous care and support during these difficult times. A memorial service will be held on September 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St, Ottawa (613-233-1143).

Est décédé paisiblement à l’hôpital le 28 juin 2023, à l’âge de 91 ans. Époux bien-aimé d’Etheline Claudette Johnson-Heap, Jim fut précédé dans la mort en 2005 par son ex-épouse Suzette Girard (mère de Ruby). Père chéri de Ruby Heap (Gilles Patry), grand-père aimant et dévoué de Susie Heap (Anadi Misra) et cher frère d’Helen Cusiac. Ses neveux, le Dr Jean Bourgouin (Jocelyne Paquin), et le Dr Pierre Bourgouin (Elaine Faucher), sa belle-fille Brenda Johnson-Charles (Roderick Charles), ses nièces et les autres membres de la famille se souviendront affectueusement de Jim.
La famille tient à remercier l’équipe de médecins et d’infirmières du Campus général de L’Hôpital d’Ottawa, qui ont fourni des soins et un soutien continus en ces temps difficiles. Une célébration de sa vie aura lieu le 23 septembre 2023 à 11 h 00 à la chapelle Centrale, Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315, rue McLeod, Ottawa (613-233-1143).
