John Howard Lyoness, age 93, of Stratford passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 25, 2023. Born in Stratford, son of the late George and Elizabeth Lyoness.
Beloved husband of June (Bloomfield). Loving father of Judy Scott, Richard, John (Diane), Doug (Gina), Sherri Lichti (Randy), Jim (Meg). Grandpa to numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also survived by brother-in-law Don Bloomfield and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by son Ron Lyoness, grandson Jay Lichti, sisters Marguerite Smith, Edyth Davidson, Jean Bain, Florence Thistle and brother Bruce Lyoness.
Jack worked at Kroehler’s for 42 years until his retirement. After retiring Jack and June managed Woodhaven Trailor Park in Ipperwash for many years. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Stratford.
Visitation will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, March 29, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Operation Smile through the funeral home. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
