Obituary of Ivan Gerald Picott
Surround by family on August 12, 2023 Ivan Gerald Picott peacefully passed away in his 92nd year. Loving husband of Marion Picott for 71 wonderful years. Cherished father of James Picott, Valerie (George) Magee, the late Brian Picott (Kim Ricard), Katherine Maynard, Tracy (Dale) Constable and Julie Picott (Mark Lepine). He will be missed by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother John Picott. He will be fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends.
Ivan was very passionate about his gardens, his immaculate yard and the community gardens. He was a very social person, always stopping to chat with neighbours. Ivan had a love for family, always willing to lend a listening ear and much needed advice. He was an assistant manager at the Strathroy A&P for several years. Ivan was also a member and past president of the Strathroy Horticultural Society. Ivan’s sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will take place at the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery. A Reception to take place at the Strathroy Legion. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Strathroy Middle General Hospital Foundation.
