It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Istvan Szucs, on March 10, 2023, at the age of 92.
Beloved husband of Maria Bory, cherished father and devoted grandfather. He will also be deeply missed by his great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
He will always be remembered for his passion for fishing, gardening, as well as his love for cats. He was a strong silent type who was always there when you needed him, willing to lend a hand or give advice. He taught us how to hook a worm or a minnow, how to fish, and how to reel them in and make sure you didn’t lose your catch. He even got us out in the winter to go ice fishing with him. He took excellent care in his garden, making sure his plants and vegetables flourished and were enjoyed by his family. After a hard day’s work tending his garden, it would bring him silent pride when everyone would compliment and marvel at it. The flowers he grew were always the brightest and biggest blooms and they attracted many bees and hummingbirds. It was always a wonderful sight to see and created many memories for all. He always had a soft spot for cats, and every cat that was part of his life followed him around as much for his attention, as well as for the secret snacks he would give them. His connection with cats helped comfort him in his final days.
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Complexe Yves Légaré Pierrefonds.
A prayer meeting will be held the same day at 12:00 pm.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Nurses and Care Givers at the CHSLD Vigi Dollard des Ormeaux for their wonderful support and care.
