Isabella Gunn
GUNN, Isabella Cecelia (nee MacDonald) of Moncton, passed
away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 18th,
at the age of 95 years.
‘Bella’ was born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, and relocated
to Moncton in the 1960s with her late husband, J. Alexander Gunn
(2006) and their young daughters. She was a devoted homemaker
and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had an
abiding faith in God, which gave her strength and comfort throughout
her life and most especially in her later years.
Isabella was much loved and will be greatly missed by her
three daughters, Karen Holden (Louis), Maine, Merribeth (Kevin)
Steeves, Moncton, and Mary (Carl) MacLean, Riverview, as well as her
grandchildren, Ashley (Tom) Robichaud, Jonathan (Nicole) Steeves,
Caleb Holden, Malcolm, Grace, Olivia and Laughlan MacLean and
great-grand daughter, Evelyn Robichaud.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her
parents, J. Malcolm and Euphemia (nee MacDougall) MacDonald, siblings
Phyllis Oram and Mary, Sarah (‘Sally’) and John MacDonald, eldest
daughter Maureen Baillargeon and nephew Joseph Oram.
The family would like to thank our dear cousin Vanessa and
the dedicated Extra-Mural nurses and caregivers from Integrity Home
Health Services who helped make it possible for Mom to remain at home,
as well as her caring neighbours, Lynette and Al Hawkes. At Mom’s
request, there will be no visitation or service. Following cremation,
interment will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, North
Sydney, Nova Scotia.
