Irene Murrin
April 4 1938 – June 29, 2023
It is with great sadness that we the family of the late Irene Murrin (nee Clarke) announce her passing. Irene passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on June 29,2023 at the age of 85 years surrounded by her loving and adoring family.
She is predeceased by her devoted husband of 53 years Lorne Murrin, her son Gordon Murrin, parents Phoebe and Richard Clarke, sister Ruby, brother-in-law Charles Vokey, Brother Arthur Clarke, sister Susie and brother-in-law Robert Richards.
Irene Leaves to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories her daughters Carol Ann (Calvin) Barrett, and Cindy (Derek) her daughter in law Marilyn, her grandchildren Amanda (Geoff), Matthew (Krista), Michael (Terri Ann) and Michelle. Her great grandchildren Emma, Brendon, Ella, Chase, Connor, Lindsey, and Aaron. Her brother Malcom and sister-in-law Ruth. Her sister-in-law Shirly, special friend Millie as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews.
Irene was the centre of her family’s world especially her daughters, she was blessed to have many wonderful days with them which she enjoyed to the fullest. Irene was an avid bingo player she never missed a game! But most of all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren to them she was known as “old Nanny” she was witty and fun and spent hours singing and playing with them. Irenes fun loving spirit will live on through those she has left behind.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Carbonear General hospital for their care and kindness over the last few weeks.

Closing prayers will be held at 8 P.M. on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from Slade’s Funeral Home, Spaniards Bay
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at SLADE’S FUNERAL HOME, CBN HIGHWAY, SPANIARDS BAY, on Sunday: 10 A.M. – 8 P.M.
