Obituary For Irene (Gladys) Hamilton
Irene (Gladys) Hamilton, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 80 years.
Irene was born to Robert and Violet Byrnes, on January 11th, 1943 in Grande Prairie, Alberta. She spent most of her life in Grande Prairie as well as Edmonton, Alberta.
Irene had an interesting, varied career but she was happy to retire so she could spend many enjoyable years camping at Sturgeon Lake with her husband Ken. Her children and grandchildren have fond memories of camping and fishing with grandma and grandpa. Irene and Ken loved travelling and spent some winters in Mexico, as well as visiting family and friends. Irene was an energetic, determined and creative lady who loved writing and was very proud to publish two books. She was also a talented sewer and quilter who designed and created lovely handmade items for her family and friends.
Irene will be sadly missed by her children: Robert Logan (Fhines Cruz), and Jan Logan (Lyle Musyowski); grandchildren: Jenna Logan, Marissa Wall, Kyla Chernichen, Darren Chernichen, Samantha Lougheed and Daylen Lougheed; great-grandchild Nolan Chernichen, sisters: Carol (Gerry) Rigler, Ev (Brian) Turner and half-sister Dawn (Nick) Kellie, as well as numerous other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 27th, 2023 at Irene’s favorite camping spot at Sturgeon Lake, Alberta.
