Maurice “Maussade” Goguen, 67, of Cocagne, passed away on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, NB.
Born in Cocagne, NB, he was the son of the late Gerard and the late Emilia (Robichaud) Goguen.
Maurice had worked many years as a lobster fisherman and with Atlantic Roofers.
He is survived by his sons: Regis “Pitou” (Julie Rouleau) of Oromocto and Luc (Rachel Allain) of Cocagne; his grandchildren: Ludovick, Estéban, Jasmine and Jérémie; his sisters: Florida Aubé (Jean-Paul) of Montreal, Stella Allain (Levi) of Bouctouche, Aline Thébeau (Robert) of St-Antoine, Diane Surette (Gerald Basque) and Jeanne Allain (Carole Bourgeois), both of Cocagne; his brothers: Ronald (Irene) and Arice, both of Cocagne; many aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews and the extended Leger family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Yvette (Leger) Goguen (1978) and by his brothers: Reginald, Aldei, Francis (1966), Daniel (1972), Regis (1975), Emerie (1978) and Erice (2014).
Visitation will be held from Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Monday, January 23rd, 2023, from 2 to 4 pm and from 5:30 to 6:45 pm, followed by the service in the chapel at 7 pm.
Service can be viewed on our website the day after the funeral.
In Maurice’s memory, a donation can be made to Boite à Lunch – Cocagne or a memorial of choice.
