Moncton, N.-B – Jason Robert Matchett passed away on Friday, September 8th, 2023, at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 47.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of Rose Mae (Fougère) Matchett and the late Blaine Matchett.
Jason is survived by one brother, Joshua Matchett of Moncton, and grandfather, William Thurber of Salisbury, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Beside his father, Jason is predeceased by his grandparents: Zoël Fougere and Evelyn Fougere, and Shirley Thurber.
Jason loved the outdoors, camping, walking, and biking. He was a fan of music and he played guitar and drum. He was a collector of hockey cards.
He will be greatly missed by his mother, brother, family, and his many friends.
A celebration of Jason’s life will be held from the Passage Funeral Cooperative (625 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB, (506) 855-1145) on Monday, September 18th, from 2 to 4 pm. Interment will be held in the Stilesville cemetery at a later date.
