Edith LeBlanc (Cormier), 88, of Moncton, NB and formerly of Gardner MA., passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital with her youngest daughter by her side on February 28th, 2023.
Born in St-Damien, NB, she was the eldest daughter of the late Odilon and Marie (Gaudet) Cormier, and stepmother, Marie (Goguen).
She is survived by her children: Clarence LeBlanc of Moncton, NB, Diane (Dana) Peltanen of North Carolina, Paul LeBlanc (Denise) of Gardner MA., David LeBlanc of Bass River, NB, Bernice LeBlanc of Moncton, NB, William LeBlanc of Moncton, NB, Betty (Mark) Fahey of Moncton, NB, and honorary daughter, Nancy Cormier (Gilles Arsenault) of Tankville, NB.
She is also survived by one brother, Euclide Cormier of Mississippi; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Leona Cormier and June Cormier; one brother-in-law, George Scott, and by numerous nieces and nephews spread out throughout North America.
Beside her parents, Edith was predeceased by her husband, Edgar LeBlanc (1998), her common law partner, Arsène Boucher (2019), one son, Ronald LeBlanc (2022), and one grandson, Matthew Fahey of Irishtown, NB (2018). She was also predeceased by four siblings: Eddy Cormier of Leominster, MA., Jeannine Scott, Annette (Romeo) Bastarache of Gardner, MA., and Romeo Cormier of Templeton, MA.
Edith dedicated her life to caring and doing for others and expecting nothing in return. She spent her days thinking and worrying for her family, from youngest to oldest. She lovingly took care of her husband Edgar who suffered from A.L.S. for 18 years, and later in life, she lovingly took care of her common law partner of 20 years. She loved her family above all else, but also enjoyed dancing, quilting, and listening to the music of the Beetles and Charley Pride. Her favorite pastimes were traveling to see new places and camping with her family. She will be forever missed by all of her family and friends.
Forever in our hearts.
There will be a graveside service to be held at a later date in the spring.
In memory of Edith, a donation may be made to the Harvest House of Moncton.
