After a life well lived, we shared the peaceful passing of our loving mother, Ida Pandza on June 24, 2023 in her 93rd year.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Pandza, parents, Rose and Albert Taylor, brothers, Louis, Elmer, Carl and Grant, and sisters, Beaulah and Florence.
Loving mother of Vickie Tomko, Marc Pandza, and Roseann Marble. Proud Grandmother loved by grandchildren, Eva Bluebird, Claudia Trent, Allison Tomko, Lyle Whiskeychan and Martin Gordon, and 7 great-grandchildren, all who brought Ida much joy.
Predeceased by close friends, Elsie Johnson (Senior) and Pearl Johnson (Senior), Marjorie Ireland, Iola Coppaway, and Fritzi Taylor.
She was born and raised in Curve Lake, lived in Pennsylvania for many years and returned home to Curve Lake in 2010. She loved people and made friends wherever she went. She worked in the school system, factories and at the American Red Cross. She enjoyed music, reading, playing cards, playing bocce, walking, and volunteering. She dearly loved her family, friends, and Curve Lake First Nation.
A special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Fairhaven Long Term Care facility who took such great care of Ida.
A Sacred Fire has been lit at 61 Neebeesh St. in Curve Lake. The Closing Ceremony will be at noon on Tuesday, June 27th. A reception will be held on Thursday, June 29th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at the Recreation Centre, Pioneer Point Resort, 2560 Westview Road, Curve Lake. To gain entry to Pioneer Point, press the Call button at the Gate to lift arm. Parking is located at the second parking lot on the left, near the laundromat. The Recreation Centre is located by the beach front. Ida touched a lot of people in many ways, especially with her storytelling, and will be missed by many.
