On February 13, 2023, Ibtisam Youkhana, wife and “light of my eyes” to Yousif, and loving mother of Sharon (Ben), Carmel, Priscilla, and Mary, went to be with Jesus her Saviour.
Ibtisam was born November 25, 1964 in Nineveh, Iraq to a family of eight girls, and two boys. She was the sixth child of Shaia and Atia Sulaiman.
Ibtisam met Yousif in Baghdad, Iraq where he fell in love with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. After the course of a four year romance story, Yousif and Ibtisam were married in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1994 and shortly after moved to Canada where they raised their four daughters.
Although she will be missed, Ibtisam placed her faith in Jesus and we are comforted by the assurance that she is now in the presence of her beloved Saviour and we will see her again.
The family will receive visitors at McKersie Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton on Friday February 17, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Hope Church Mississauga, 7755 Tenth Line W, Mississauga on Saturday February 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a private interment at Milton Evergreen Cemetery for the immediate family only. The family will host food and refreshments after the funeral service at Hope Church Mississauga.
