Obituary of Hubert Raymond Gilbert
It is with profound sadness that the family of Hubert Raymond Gilbert annouce his passing on Decemeber 31, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Pearl and his eight children: Ivan (Audrey), Gilbert of Moncton, Cathy (Frank) Eveleigh of Badger, Rick (Melvina ) Gilbert of Badger, Keith (Fatima) Gilbert of Brampton, Janet (Wayne) Carter of Moncton, Leona Gilbert of Buchans, Stacey (Ted) Carter of Mississauga, and Loretta (Eugene) Battiste of Port Aux Basque; his sisters Margaret (Tom) Hunter of Grand Falls-Windsor and Ethel of Clarenville.
Hubert will also be dearly missed by his twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Elsie Gilbert; sister Edith, brothers Eric and Gordon, and son-in-law Oral.
Hubert made his living in the logging industry where he started at a very young age while raising his own sisters and brothers before raising a beautiful family of his own. He served 25 years as a devoted member of the Badger Volunteer Fire Department.
Donations in Huberts memory can be made to the Badger Volunteer Fire Department.
The family wish to send a special thanks to the staff at the Carmelite House for their extraordinary care and compassion during his final days.
