It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Helen (Martha) Langdon of Grand Bank announces her passing. Helen passed away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank on Sunday, September 24th, 2023, at the age of 81.

Her six great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Kayleigh, Olivia, Owen, Michaela and Lucas. Also her twin sister, Mary (Lorne) and sisters, Margaret and Hilda. Her brothers in-law, Cluett (Joyce) and Hickman (Tryphina) and sisters in-law, Alma, Beulah (Eric), Ida (Winston) and Ruby (Leo); many nieces and nephews; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Helen was predeceased by her loving husband Albert, who she was married to for 40 years; their infant daughter; parents, George & Jane (nee Harris) Loveless; parents in-law, Edward & Bertha (nee Forsey); brothers, Earl, Wallace, Clyde and Norman; sister, Dulcie; brothers in-law, Gerald and Joe; sister in-law, Florrie.
Helen grew up in the town of Seal Cove, Fortune Bay. She married the love of her life, Albert, in 1959
and they began their family. There they raised five children where Albert would often say she could
take one dollar and make it into two. Helen was known for her cooking and her work ethic. Her family
will talk fondly about her flour soup, pea soup and rice gravy for years to come. In later years, after
Albert’s passing, Helen moved to Grand Bank to be closer to her children.
Helen was especially proud of her grand children and great-grand children. Her love overflowed
whenever they were in her presence. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion. She was a
woman of great faith. Despite having Alzheimer’s in her later years, she delighted in singing hymns and
choruses off by heart with those who visited with her.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to Helen’s previous home care workers, Jennifer Stacey, Patsy Price and Nora Baker and the Doctors and all the staff at the Blue Crest Nursing Home for the care of their mother for the past seven years.
