Obituary for
Heather Jean Katherine McLennan
McLENNAN, Heather Jean Katherine (1951-2023)
In loving memory of Heather, who left us on January 16, 2023 at the age of 71 years, the family will gather to share their favourite memories and celebrate her life. A memorial reception will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. in the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home Reception Lounge.
Heather is survived by brother Bruce (Cathy) and nieces Laura Flynn (Peter) and Michelle, and great niece Cecilia. Heather is predeceased by parents Marian and Alexander McLennan.
Heather was born and raised in Sudbury, moving with her family to Timmins in 1965, as father Alex, a land surveyor, saw opportunity with the Texas Gulf mine discovery. Heather had great potential in her youth, with brimming intelligence and vibrant red hair that could light up a room when she entered. Unfortunately, her health took a turn in university and she would endure with that mental health condition throughout her adult life. From 1987 until 2009, Heather and mom Marian were a terrific team running errands together downtown and enjoying lunches and tea in the area. The family wishes to send a special thank you to everyone associated with Golden Manor, where she was provided care and compassion in her final years.
Remembrance donations made to the Canadian Mental Health Association Cochrane Timiskaming Branch or the charity of your choice would be appreciated Arrangements are entrusted to MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins, ON.
