Heather
Anne Brooks, a woman of many passions and a beloved member of her
community, passed away on Monday April 17th at the age of 56. Heather
was born on May 1st, 1966 in St. John, New Brunswick, to Doug and
Diane Stillwell. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother and caring
daughter.
She is
survived by her husband Dion Brooks; mother Diane Stillwell; sons
Garnett Vroom, Forest Shaw (Lauren) and Ashton Shaw; daughters Tiffany
Brooks, Courtney Brooks and Sierra Brooks; uncle Robert Timms; cousin
Matthew Myers (Betty); mother-in-law Alice Paul; sisters-in-law Cindy
Brooks (Sheldon), Sandra Adamen, Ida Brooks (Daniel), Linda Verruyt
(Bart); Brothers-in-law Tom Brooks (Phyllis), William Brooks (Stella),
Cecil Brooks (Laurie), Arnold Brooks, Richard Brooks, Dana Brooks
(Willa), Randy Brooks (Sheila); Frank Brooks (Lorraine), Mark
“Barnsey” Brooks, Toby Brooks (April) and Billy Brooks
(Jeannie); lifelong friends Velvet Bostick, Rhonda Bostick, Terri
Keene, and Gabrielle “Booboo” Paul; and numerous nieces,
nephews, and friends.
Heather
was predeceased by her father Douglas Stillwell; Aunt’s
Jeanette Myers and Joan Brewer; cousin Elaine Mcleod; brothers-in-law
Patrick “Trackie” Brooks and Walter Brooks; sister-in-law
Dorothy Hansen and nephew Tyler Brooks.
Heather
had a deep love for animals, particularly horses, dogs, and wildlife.
She spent many hours riding horses with her children and caring for
her beloved pets. Heather was also an avid lover of the ocean and
enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family. She never looked
more peaceful than when standing on the beach, eyes closed, smelling
the ocean air.
Heather
cherished her camp, Sparkle Lodge. She treasured her time with her
family and friends there. She poured her heart and soul into making it
a place where family and friends could create memories. She took great
pride in this.
In the
winter, Heather and her husband Dion would take to the snowmobile
trails, enjoying the cool winter air and the beauty of the
snow-covered landscape. It was a passion that they shared, creating
many cherished memories over the
years.
Heather
was also a talented artist, expressing her creativity through painting
and crafts. Her works of art were admired by many and will continue to
be cherished by her loved
ones.
Heather
will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will always
remember her for her fun personality and love for those around her.
Her legacy will live on through her children and the memories she
created with those she
loved.
Visitations for Heather will be held at
the Maqiyahtimok Center, 247 Maliseet Drive St. Mary’s First Nation,
beginning Friday April 21st at 2 pm and
continue throughout the evening. At 5 pm, a sacred fire will be lit to
honor her passing.
A
celebration of Heather’s life will be held the following day, Saturday
April 22nd at 5 pm at the Maqiyahtimok Center,
A reception will follow at the same
location.

Woodstock Road have been trusted with the arrangements. In lieu of
flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the local SPCA in
Heather’s name.
