It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Harry Albert Redstone, 86. Born in Hamilton to parents the late George and Florence and preceded in death by his beloved wife Kim. Harry is survived by his sons Grant and Lee, his grandchildren Simon and Violet and his daughters in law Emily and Shannon. Harry was a loving father, husband, and grandfather. He will be remembered and missed by his family and his many friends/colleagues for his kindness, generosity and gentle spirit.
Harry graduated from Queens University with a degree in Civil Engineering. While working in England shortly after graduating he met his wife Kim on a Tube station platform. He loved being a civil engineer and he loved to travel. He combined these two loves by working throughout the world on many diverse projects, from Hydroelectric dams in India and British Columbia, roads and bridges in Jamaica, roads and sewers in Saudi Arabia and LRT (light rail transit) projects throughout Southeast Asia and domestically. He loved classical music, jazz, listening to the BBC news and reading books. He was also a staunch Hamilton Tigercats and Liverpool soccer fan.
Cremation has taken place and no immediate formal services will be held but a Celebration of Life will be held this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in his name.
