August 24, 1934 – July 18, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Harold Schwartz of Deer Lake, NL announce his passing on July 18, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 66 years, Phyllis; children Arlene (Paul), Sharon (Derrick), and Glenn (Mary); daughter-in-law Thelma; grandchildren Adam, Sarah (Sascha), Andrew, Samantha, Melissa, and Kyler (Anna); great grandchildren Arianna and Emily; brothers Len (Barbara), Bernard (Marie), and John (Pat); sisters-in-law Marilyn (Bruce), and Karen; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Harold was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Ethel Schwartz; his son Keith; parents-in-law Stanley and Evelyn Mouland; brother Eddie (Pat); sister-in-law Beverley; and brother-in-law Bert.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Western Long Term Care Home in Corner Brook, their care and compassion will not be forgotten.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from the hours of 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at St. Paul’s United Church, 17 Spruce Street, Deer Lake on Thursday, July 20, 2023, beginning at 2:00 pm with Rev. Simon officiating. Interment will follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight’s Road. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Harold by donating to the Deer Lake Foodbank or Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
