Harold’s Obituary
Miller, Harold Leon – 72, Millvale, died peacefully on April 18, 2023 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, surrounded by family watching the Leafs game. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Freda Miller and Tim Silvea. Harold was a professional welder by trade, having worked in the construction industry for many years. He eventually finished working with the Nova Scotia Dept. of Highways, where he was active in the union and health and safety committee. Harold also worked at other various jobs over the years, including at one time owning and operating a towing business called “The Happy Hooker”. Harold loved his friends and family and especially loved hockey and his Toronto Maple Leafs. He is survived by wife, Donna Jean (Harold’s constant companion and woman of his dreams); daughters, Patti (Troy) and Lacey; stepdaughter, Jolene (Norm); son, Russell (Arleen); stepson, Corey (Leanne); sisters, Jeannie and Jennie (Cyril); brother, Rob; best friend, Bruce; favourite hockey player, Doug; grandchildren, Tiffany, Rachel, Savannah, Lily, Carter and Spencer; great-grandchildren, Merissa and Carson. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm Saturday, April 22, with service to celebrate Harold’s life at 3 pm, both in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Oxford. Family flowers only.
