Obituary
Hans Richter
June 20, 1939 – July 25, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of beloved father and friend Hans Werner Richter on July 25th in Selkirk, Manitoba.
Hans was predeceased by his parents Bernhard and Gertrude Richter and his wife Renate Achenbach. Left to cherish his memory are his children, grandkids, great grandkids and friends.
Hans was born and raised in Kisdorf, Germany. He moved to Canada in his early 20’s where he began his career in the building and agriculture industries that lasted for decades.
Hans was a well travelled man, having lived in Germany, Canada, United States and New Zealand.
He loved music & dancing, animals and horseback riding, politics and sports. He had a passion for history, literature, philosophy and reading.
The second half of his life was spent working in sales for PowerRich where his dedication for customer service enabled him to grow a substantial customer base across the Saskatchewan and Manitoban farming market.
Hans was hardworking and a proud man, a loving father, a loyal German national and stalwart friend.
Funeral service will be held at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St. in Selkirk, Manitoba on Monday, July 31 at 3:00 p.m.
