Hamilton, Beverley Joan
May 20, 1934 – July 9, 2023
Bev, known affectionately as ‘Boo’ to her family, died peacefully at the Meaford Long Term Care Center in Meaford, ON, on July 09, 2023.
An only child to Dorothy and Cecil Brook, she was raised in Montreal West and spent summers at Rivière Beaudette, QC. Bev had a smile that would light up a room, and her twinkling blue eyes were always full of life. Married at 19 to Grant Hamilton, together they raised 5 children in Beaconsfield, QC. She made lifelong friends at the Ste. Marguerite Ski Club in the Laurentians and at the Beaconsfield Golf Club in Pointe Claire, QC. Bev was the anchor who kept us connected when careers and distance tugged in varying directions. Bev enjoyed traveling, spending time with close friends, and remained an avid skier and golfer into her early 80’s. Bev was pre-deceased by Grant in 1991, and her son Richard in 2011 – the latter from which she never fully recovered. Survived by Brook (Suzanne), Peter (Diane), Lesley (Doug), Leigh (Scott), 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, she will be sadly missed and warmly remembered. A cremation, followed by a private burial (date TBD) at the Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal, QC is planned.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Collins and all the wonderful supportive staff at the Meaford Long Term Care.
