The family of Guido Tucci is saddened by the passing of a beloved father, brother and uncle who passed away at the age of 95 years on Monday, February 20 at Sault Area Hospital, but they take solace knowing heaven’s gardens are blooming a bit brighter.
Guido is reunited with Olga, his lifelong soul mate and partner of 68 years, and was the devoted, proud father of Chris Tucci and his wife Elysia of Tampa Bay, Florida. He is predeceased by his parents Giuseppe & Pierina Tucci and in-laws Mary & Michele Massovich. Guido was the beloved brother and best friend of Norman Tucci (late Barbara) and Donna Donofrio (late Henry), and was predeceased by siblings Primo Tucci, Laura Erlandson (late Curt) of Ohio, Carmen Tucci (Angela Roberts) of Italy, and Joseph Tucci (Naomi). Brother-in-law of Lena Lauzon (late Joseph), and predeceased by Rose (Tom) McGill, Pauline (John) Shonuck), Mary (Earl) Lalonde, Catherine (John) Gianakakis and Michael (Janice) Massovich. Like Olga, Guido loved and cherished his many nieces and nephews whom he always made laugh and who will cherish his generous spirit and warm smile.
Guido had an unassuming ability to entertain his friends and family with epic storytelling, including hunting and fishing tales. Thanks to his razor-sharp memory, humour and quick wit, no detail was too small as he recalled the many hits (and misses!) he enjoyed with his buddies, including Jimmy, in the bush and on the water.
Guido and Olga’s boundless generosity to all was reciprocated in their advanced years by the selfless dedication and support of many. These “angels on earth” include loving family Peggy & Jim, Linda & Terry, Catherine & Rod, Mandy, Rejeanne & Greg, Marnie, Teresa, Joey; dedicated PSW James and the Bayshore team; and dedicated neighbours Bill & Pat and Don & Debbie. Guido was the biggest fan of his PSW Mae, who provided countless hours of care and assistance. He was half of a dynamic duo with his brother Norman, who generously provided “chauffeur” services and much companionship; together, they tore up the town. He was also grateful for his sister Donna’s homemade meals and treats.
Guido and Olga dedicated decades to their spectacular flower gardens which were a labour of love. Visitors immediately recognized the Tucci home framed by meticulously manicured topiaries, shrubs, and bursts of colourful annuals and perennials (oh, those Dinner Plate Dahlias!) which they generously shared with others. Guido maintained the beautiful gardens and backyard oasis following Olga’s death in 2021 until the first snowfall in Fall 2022! The squirrels, birds (whom Guido fed well), foxes (and bears) also loved to visit the flower gardens.
Guido’s family shares their gratitude to the Jon’s Medicine Shoppe team, the SSM Paramedics for their unconditional support over the years, and to Sault Area Hospital Emergency and 3B staff for their dedication to Guido’s care in his final week.

Family and friends are invited to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (215 St. James St) on Saturday February 25, 2023, from 11:00am until the time of the service in the chapel at 12:00pm with Mr. Len Monico officiating.
