It is with great sadness that the family of the late Greta Melinda Best announce her passing at her home in Moncton NB July 21, 2023. Greta was born December 27, 1955 to James and Bessie Nippard of Embree, NL.
Greta has a daughter Bessie and a son Leslie (who sadly died as an infant). She had two grandchildren Daniel and Katelyn whom she loved and adored very much. She loved being a grandmother. Greta and her companion Calvin Brenton moved to Moncton NB, 9 years ago to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law, and her grandchildren.
In Greta’s earlier years she was an LPN who did home care for those with Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
She loved her job and all the families she worked with.
Greta was predeceased by her son Leslie; parents, James, and Bessie Nippard; siblings May, Laura, Derek, Bruce, Herman, Elizabeth, and foster brother Max.
Left to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories are her daughter Bessie (Greg) Lush; precious grandchildren Daniel and Katelyn; companion Calvin Brenton; siblings, Jim (Gladys), Ruth (Ivan) Day, Judy (Boyde) Walsh, David (Clarissa), Baxter (Val), Ruby Canning, Theresa Eveleigh, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at Gander Evangel Pentecostal Church in Gander NL, September, 9th at 11:00 AM.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society will be gratefully accepted.
The Family would like to thank Greta’s Nurse Monique Hutchinson for her excellent care and support. Also, a special thank you to Fergusons Funeral Home for their professionalism and care.
